The Tile Layers shall be responsible to set tiles and finish tiles to walls, floors and roof decks both for aesthetic and practical reasons as needed.
Job Description:
- Loading and unloading materials on job site
- Cutting tile sand shaping them properly in a manner that they fit
- Forming tile-beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar utilizing tools, screeds, brushes as needed
- Aligning tiles and straightening them
- Applying cement to walls, floors and ceiling as required
- Utilizing tools such as hammers, chisels, trowels, putty knives, power grinders and polishers as needed
- Taking note and reporting any problems and summary of actions taken
- Following health and safety standards and complying with building codes
- Taking note and reporting problems and summary of actions taken
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge on tile laying; related vocational training certificates will be considered an asset
- Experience in a similar role
- Fluency in Maltese and/or Arabic (in order to be able to communicate with the rest of the current team)
- Secondary level of education or higher
- Physical stamina and strength
