Hotel security

The Hotel Security shall be responsible for providing safety in the hotel and instil a sense of safety amongst guests and employees. The Hotel Security is to be attentive and on the alert in order to ensure that a high standard security level is maintained at all times.

Job Description

  • Taking responsibility for the safety and security of guest, employees and establishment needs during shift
  • Reporting all hotel property deficiencies and safety or security hazards
  • Taking action to improve a hazardous situation immediately
  • Familiarising with location of fire alarms and fire-fighting equipment
  • Maintaining a surveillance of those areas that are frequented by guests and all work areas
  • Ensuring checks are conducted on fire panel, fire hose real outlets and fire barriers and all other safety equipment and ensure that all are in good working order
  • Ensuring hotel alarm system is in good working order Forming part of the hotel’s Emergency Response Team
  • Ensuring all the company policies and procedures are strictly complied with at all times
  • Ensuring that any incident or dispute within the premises is being handled with utmost security and integrity
  • Maintaining a physical presence
  • Keeping all written work logs and general administrative documents neat, concise and accurate Maintaining strict confidentiality in all matters pertaining to equipment, procedures and information Behaving in a professional manner at all times
  • Controlling and keeping records of the movement of goods, keys, security equipment and lost and found property
  • Assisting in case of emergency situations, in liaison with all relevant entities

Requirements

  • Valid Security license
  • ‘O’ level education with strong knowledge of the English Language
  • ECDL certificate holder preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Prior experience in Hotel security or other luxury establishments will be considered an asset
  • Valid first aid and fire awareness certificate will be considered an asset Ability to act quickly, calmly and appropriately in emergency situations
  • All applicants, whether currently living in Malta and hold a valid work permit or still living abroad and want to relocate in Malta, will be considered for this position.
