The General Cleaners shall be responsible for the upkeep of the offices and all public areas.
Job Description
- Cleaning corridors and other public areas
- Cleaning offices, restaurants and halls as applicable
- Sweeping carpets
- Emptying ashtrays and urns
- Polishing furniture and fixtures
- Vacuuming and polishing elevators
- Keeping the entrances free from trash
- Cleaning rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and shampoo machine
- Washing walls and ceilings as needed
- Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and polishing floors
- Dusting and polishing metal works
- Collecting solid linen supplies in floor linen closets
- Maintaining housekeeping trolleys and cleaning materials
- Removing trash collected
- Attending daily briefings for functions and events
- Performing daily assigned tasks in toilets, lifts, back areas and terraces amongst others
- Cleaning and maintaining all equipment daily
- Following up a special cleaning schedule given by the housekeeping control desk
- Reporting maintenance to supervisor/housekeeping desk immediately
- Complying with Lost and found policies
- Assisting guests in public areas when required
- Maintaining inventory in the housekeeping closets
- Posting caution signs as and when required
- Following departmental policies and procedures
Requirements
- Good command of the English Language; additional languages will be considered an asset Presentable and respectful
- Good customer care
- Team player
- Work experience and any related certificates within the hotel industry will be considered an asset
- Ability to follow instructions
- Secondary level of education or better
- All applicants, whether currently living in Malta and hold a valid work permit or still living abroad and want to relocate in Malta, will be considered for this position.
