The Chef is to ensure that the kitchen is orderly and is responsible to prepare and present food. The Chef is expected to excel in customer care and be respectful at all times especially whilst servicing customers.
Job Description
- Prepare food such as cleaning, cutting and chopping and peeling food ingredients in a timely manner
- Clean and sanitise the food preparation areas based on Company and industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards.
- Wash, disinfect and properly store cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment Buy, weigh and store ingredients and food supplies
- Operate a number of kitchen appliances and instruments including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens
- Greet and assist residents to sit at table
- Hand out menus and explain menu items and specials
- Take customer orders and present food on time
- Deliver prepared food to patrons and clean tables
- Handle any complaints
- Greet customers and service them by using the appropriate customer service etiquette
- Ensure that customers’ needs are satisfied
- Clean workstations and equipment
- Comply with all food regulations
- Perform any other duties as needed
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills particularly in the English language
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work as part of a team
- A passion for customer service.
- Food handling certificate
- Experience as chef particularly in Indian Food
- Candidates MUST be already residing in Malta and must have at least 1 year working experience as a Chef in Malta.
- The selected candidate will be presented with an attractive salary of €9-610 an hour depending on level of experience.
